Change Name of LLC
Florida does not allow you to change your company’s legal name online or through your annual report. You must fill out a physical form and submit it by mail or in person


1. Verify Name Availability
a. Make sure the new name includes a required designator at the end, such as “Limited Liability Company,” “LLC,” or “L.L.C.”


2. Download and Fill Out the Amendment Form
a. Go to Florida Department of State LLC Forms Page and download the Amendment (PDF) packet.

b. Fill out the Cover Letter with your contact information and payment selection.

c. Fill out the Articles of Amendment form. You will need your LLC’s current name, its original filing date, and the exact new name you want to use.


3. Submit the Form and Pay the Fee
a. The required state filing fee for a Florida LLC Amendment is $25.00.
b. Make your check or money order payable to the Florida Department of State.

2. Formally Adopt the Name Change
a. Before filing with the state, your corporation must follow its internal bylaws to approve the change.

Typically, the Board of Directors must vote on and pass a corporate resolution approving the new name.

a. Download the Profit Corporation Amendment (PDF) packet directly from the official Florida Department of State Corporation Forms Page.

b. Complete the Cover Letter with your contact information.

c. Fill out the Articles of Amendment to Articles of Incorporation form.
You will need to state the corporation’s current name, the date the original Articles of Incorporation were filed, and the exact new name.

You must check a box on the form indicating whether the amendment was adopted by the directors, the shareholders, or both.
